Gossan (Pebble apps on Playdate)
A downloadable game
The Gossan project brings your beloved and original Pebble smartwatch apps & watchfaces to the Playdate handheld console. With the discontinuation of Pebble in 2016 and only a few thousand devices still active today, Gossan aims to preserve the legacy of Pebble by allowing users to experience these apps once again on new hardware.
This project leverages a clean-room re-implementation of the Pebble runtime and executes unaltered Pebble apps natively on the Playdate. Today, Gossan is able to run a handful of the most popular Pebble apps and continues to increase support for more in the future (see Devlog).
Whether you are nostalgic for your Pebble or curious about exploring new ways to experience classic apps, Gossan is your gateway to keeping this iconic technology alive—now on Playdate!
